As the 2027 general elections draw near, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is intensifying its efforts to surpass its main rivals, the Labour Party (LP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The party has initiated strategic consultations and planning sessions to secure a strong foothold.

APC sources reveal a focus on reinforcing grassroots support, resolving internal disputes, and streamlining campaign operations across all six FCT area councils. A senior APC official, who requested anonymity, stated, “We’re not just aiming to compete in 2027—we’re gearing up to dominate. We’re leaving no stone unturned, especially with LP’s growing appeal and PDP’s entrenched presence.”

The party has pinpointed key battleground zones and is preparing to roll out empowerment initiatives, stakeholder meetings, and policy forums to regain public confidence. In response, the LP, driven by youth enthusiasm and economic discontent, is developing counter-strategies. The PDP, with its deep-rooted influence in the FCT, remains a significant force.

Analysts anticipate that the FCT will be a fiercely contested region in the 2027 elections, with APC, LP, and PDP locked in a tight race for dominance.
