President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, for delivering 17 major infrastructure projects in Abuja, marking the administration’s second year.
Represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Friday, June 13, 2025, Tinubu spoke during the commissioning of the 15km left-hand service lane of the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) from Ring Road I to Wasa Junction.
He described the OSEX as vital to Abuja’s transport network and commended the project’s quality and speed. He also acknowledged the ongoing relocation of Apo Mechanic Village and urged residents to protect public infrastructure.
Wike, in response, vowed to complete the dualisation of the OSEX and personally oversee the traders’ relocation. He defended recent decisions, including renaming the International Conference Centre, stressing commitment to excellence.
FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, and FCDA’s Engr. Richard Dauda also applauded the President’s support and the contractor, CGC Nigeria Ltd, for the quality work delivered.
