Abuja, Nigeria – June 10, 2025
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to remain resolute in his service to the nation, urging him to ignore critics and remain focused on delivering tangible results.
The President made this statement earlier today during the commissioning of the newly rehabilitated International Conference Centre in Abuja, which has been officially renamed the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in his honour.
Speaking at the event, President Tinubu applauded Wike’s dedication and commitment to infrastructural development in the capital city. He encouraged the FCT Minister to dismiss distractions from detractors and maintain momentum in his developmental efforts.
“Disregard the naysayers and onlookers. No matter what they say, don’t let them derail your vision. Continue with your good work,” President Tinubu said.
The event drew dignitaries from across the country, including top government officials, lawmakers, and members of the diplomatic corps, who gathered to witness the rebirth of one of the country’s premier venues for national and international events.
The rehabilitated facility now boasts modern features and improved infrastructure, aimed at positioning Abuja as a competitive hub for conferences and global summits.
Minister Wike, in his remarks, thanked the President for his support and reaffirmed his commitment to the transformation of the capital city, pledging more developmental milestones in the months ahead.
