The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has praised the management of the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, Abuja, for investigating eight staff members accused of neglecting an accident victim brought in by a good Samaritan.

FRSC Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, in a statement by spokesperson Olusegun Ogungbemide, stressed the need for hospitals to treat crash victims promptly and professionally. He condemned the recurring rejection of victims by some hospitals, noting that the National Road Traffic Regulations (2024) prohibit such actions.

Mohammed also applauded the citizen who rescued the victim and urged Nigerians to show similar patriotism. He reaffirmed FRSC’s commitment to working with health institutions to improve emergency response and reduce crash fatalities.

FMC confirmed that four doctors, two nurses, and two attendants are under probe. The hospital assured the public that anyone found guilty of negligence would be held accountable. The patient in question, who appeared in a viral video with a head injury, has since been treated and discharged.
