A 27-year-old man identified as Mu’azam tragically died after a mining pit collapsed on him in Gurfata village, Dobi ward, Gwagwalada Area Council, Abuja.
The incident occurred on Thursday, June 5, 2025, while he was digging for gold.
Mu’azam had briefly left the pit to check the timing for Juma’at prayers but returned shortly before the collapse.
His colleagues later found his body inside the pit, and he was buried the same day according to Islamic rites.
