Emergency responders from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) swiftly came to the aid of a woman believed to have fallen victim to a suspected ‘one chance’ robbery in the Asokoro area of Abuja.

The incident reportedly occurred early Thursday when the victim was allegedly pushed out of a moving vehicle by suspected criminals who had picked her up under the pretense of offering public transport.

Passersby raised an alarm after discovering the injured woman along the roadside. The FCT Emergency Management Department (FEMD), supported by other rescue teams, arrived at the scene promptly and provided immediate assistance before taking her to a nearby medical facility.

FEMD’s Acting Director-General, Abdulrahman Mohammed, praised the quick intervention of the rescue team and urged residents to exercise caution when using public transportation. He emphasized the importance of avoiding unregistered vehicles and encouraged the public to report suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.

The victim is currently receiving treatment, while security agencies are working to uncover more details surrounding the incident.

‘One chance’ refers to a common crime tactic in which criminals disguise themselves as commercial drivers to rob unsuspecting passengers mid-journey.
