The Nigeria Police Force has refuted claims that over 200 people were kidnapped along the Abuja-Kaduna Highway.
According to the Kaduna State Police Command, the incident in question occurred on January 6, 2024, near Dogon Fili, where security forces engaged armed bandits in a gun battle. While six people were injured and taken to the hospital, authorities confirmed there was no mass abduction.
To strengthen security, Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has deployed more officers and equipment to the area. Deputy Inspector-General Ede Ayuba Ekpeji is overseeing operations to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
Police urged the public to stay calm, remain vigilant, and support ongoing security efforts along the highway.
