Residents affected by road construction want to stay within their community boundaries.

Kpaduma natives near Asokoro District appealed to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike on Thursday to relocate displaced families within the same community.

Baba Yerima, the community’s Secretary and Madaki, said moving residents elsewhere would force them to abandon ancestral homes and sacred burial grounds.

The youth leader supported the road project but stressed that development shouldn’t destroy their heritage. He said a suitable resettlement area has already been identified within Kpaduma.

Community leaders praised Wike for meeting with them and asked him to officially approve the local resettlement site.
