The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) commemorated Nurses Week in a grand event organised by the Hospitals Management Board (HMB) and the Health Services and Environment Secretariat (HSES), spotlighting the crucial role of nurses in healthcare and economic growth.
Though traditionally marked on May 12, the FCT celebrated later in the month under the theme “Our Nurses, Our Future: Caring for Nurses Strengthens Economies.”
HMB Director General, Dr. Olugbenga Bello, commended the Nursing Department for its dedication and professionalism, noting their key role in elevating healthcare standards.
HSES Permanent Secretary, Dr. Baba Gana Adam, echoed the praise, calling nurses “irreplaceable” and advocating for annual recognition and awards for outstanding service.
