The Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, stated that the biggest hurdle to progress in Abuja is the widespread refusal to pay taxes.
He noted that many residents avoid their tax and ground rent obligations, which hampers funding for vital infrastructure projects.
Wike emphasized that development depends on everyone contributing fairly to support improvements in roads, healthcare, and other services.
He also warned that the government will rigorously enforce tax laws, regardless of any attempts at intimidation or political interference.
