
The Nigeria Police Force has killed six armed bandits and arrested several others in separate operations in Abuja and Jigawa State.
In Abuja, a joint police team stopped a robbery in Maitama. One suspect, Abdulmininu Bello (aka Babanle), was killed in a shootout, while seven others some of them ex-convicts were arrested.
Weapons recovered include four AK-47 rifles, pistols, a shotgun, and a Toyota Camry.In Jigawa, police rescued 80-year-old Hajiya Hajara, kidnapped from Kano by a 12-man gang.
Five kidnappers were killed and five, including the gang leader, arrested after a gun battle.
The victim was unharmed and later discharged from the hospital.Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun praised the officers and urged Nigerians to support security efforts with useful information.
