FCTA to Launch 19 Days of Project Openings to Celebrate Tinubu’s 2nd Year in Office

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) will spend 19 days opening new projects to mark the second anniversary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership. The event will start on June 10, 2025.

This was announced by Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister, after a meeting led by Minister Nyesom Wike.

Some key projects to be opened include:

  • Renovated Abuja International Conference Centre
  • Bus stations at Kugbo and Mabushi
  • Apo to Wassa road
  • N16 interchange and connecting roads from Maitama to Jahi
  • Inner Northern Expressway from Idu to Kubwa
  • CN8 road from Obafemi Awolowo Way to Court of Appeal
  • N20 flyover and Life Camp junction to Ring Road III
  • Access roads in Giri, Kabusa-Ketti, and Kabulsa-Takushara
  • 15km road from Abuja-Lokoja road to Pai in Kwali
  • Roads in Bwari area such as Ushafa, War College, and Army Checkpoint

Also approved is a project to improve streetlights along Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway, a busy 14km road from Maitama to Gudu.

Mr. Richard Dauda, Acting Executive Secretary of the FCDA, explained that the current streetlights are old and dim because they were installed almost 20 years ago. The upgrade will use new hybrid lighting technology to make the road brighter and safer at night.
