A serious road crash involving a Dangote trailer and a J5 truck carrying sachet water caused a tense scene earlier today at Karu Bridge in the Federal Capital Territory.
The incident unfolded when the J5 truck, heading across the bridge, suddenly hit the brakes upon approaching road workers carrying out maintenance. The trailer behind it, reportedly traveling too close, was unable to stop in time and crashed into the back of the truck.
Although the collision was intense and scattered water sachets across the road, no fatalities were recorded. The driver of the J5 truck sustained injuries and was quickly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Emergency responders from the FCT Emergency Management Department and the Federal Road Safety Corps acted swiftly, clearing the wreck and helping to ease the resulting traffic congestion.
Authorities are reminding drivers to slow down near construction zones and maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead, especially on busy routes like Karu Bridge.
