The first group of pilgrims from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) who arrived in Madinah on Saturday have started visiting some of the most important Islamic sites.

According to the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, the pilgrims went to Mount Uhud, where a major battle took place between Prophet Muhammad and forces from Mecca two years after his move to Madinah.

They also visited Qubah Mosque, the first mosque ever built in Islam, located just outside the city.

The tour ended with a visit to Baqi Cemetery, where many of the Prophet’s companions, family members, and early followers are buried. This graveyard has been in use for over 1,440 years.

These visits mark a meaningful start to the pilgrims’ journey as they get ready for the main Hajj activities.
