FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, has emphasized the critical role of road infrastructure in national development, citing its direct impact on education, healthcare, agriculture, and security.

He made the remarks on Friday, May 16, during an inspection of ongoing road projects in Gwagwalada and Kwali Area Councils, including the 10km Aguma Palace–Radio Nigeria–New Market Road and the 15km A2 to Pai Road.

“Roads bring development. Without them, you can’t access schools, hospitals, or transport farm produce,” Wike stated. He noted that the presence of streetlights also enhances security.

The Minister praised the contractors for quality work and said the projects align with the FCT Administration’s commitment to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He added that over 60 schools have been renovated and promised improvements across all sectors.

The inspection aims to ensure the projects are ready for inauguration as part of events marking President Tinubu’s second year in office.
