The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, says the newly completed bus terminals in Mabushi and Kugbo will significantly reduce taxi-related crimes, particularly the notorious “one chance” incidents in Abuja.

Speaking during an inspection of the two facilities on Tuesday, Wike revealed that the terminals are fully ready for commissioning by President Bola Tinubu as part of events marking the administration’s second anniversary.

He explained that the terminals are designed to centralize public transportation in the FCT, effectively sidelining unregistered and dilapidated vehicles from the city’s transport system.

“Passengers will no longer wait by the roadside. You go to the terminal where the drivers and vehicles are known. That alone will drastically reduce crime,” Wike stated.

The minister praised the quality of work delivered at both sites, stressing that the projects were executed based on available resources and with strong support from President Tinubu—without any political influence.

According to Wike, the bus terminals are part of broader efforts to modernize and sanitize Abuja’s public transportation network for improved safety and efficiency.
