Abuja, Nigeria – The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is set for a major facelift as the FCT Administration (FCTA) announces a two-week project commissioning blitz to mark President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second year in office.
The Minister of the FCT, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, made the announcement during a press briefing on Saturday. He described the initiative as a clear demonstration of President Tinubu’s commitment to rapid infrastructure development under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Major Projects to Be Commissioned
Among the key projects scheduled for commissioning are:
- Arterial Road N16 connecting Maitama and Katampe
- 16-kilometer service carriageway linking OSEX II to Wasa
- The renovated International Conference Centre, a major landmark in the city
“These are not just projects,” Wike said, “they are statements of leadership and transformation. Under Mr. President, Abuja has witnessed visible change.”
Development Across All Areas
The two-week event will span locations across the city center, satellite towns, and rural communities. A comprehensive list of projects will be released next week, Wike noted.
The Minister also revealed plans to improve water supply to underserved areas and intensify road construction and rehabilitation across the FCT.
Call for Public Support
Wike urged residents to take ownership of the new infrastructure. “These projects belong to the people and must be preserved for future generations,” he said.
He reaffirmed the FCTA’s commitment to delivering inclusive and people-centered development aimed at improving the quality of life for all residents.
