Panic swept through Wuse 2 in Abuja on Thursday after a fire broke out at The Avenue Mall, sending thick black smoke billowing into the sky and drawing a crowd of shocked onlookers.
The blaze, which ignited at 27 Alexandria Crescent near Newton Park, rapidly engulfed parts of the building. A now-viral video posted on X captured the dramatic scene, showing fierce flames pouring from the structure as bystanders watched in disbelief.
As of press time, the cause of the fire remains unknown, and emergency responders have yet to issue an official statement.
