The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) in the Federal Capital Territory has suspended its three-day warning strike following the reinstatement of dismissed health workers and partial payment of outstanding salaries.

ARD President, Dr. George Ebong, confirmed the development after an emergency virtual meeting, noting that the FCT Administration met some of their key demands. He also acknowledged the intervention of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and his team.

“We called off the warning strike after some of our demands were met,” Dr. Ebong stated. “Most of our members have received their unpaid salaries and been reinstated. We strongly hope the rest are paid by tomorrow to avoid further disruption in the health sector.”

Dr. Ebong also expressed gratitude to key officials who facilitated the resolution, saying, “We thank the FCT Health Mandate Secretary, Dr. Adedolapo Fasawe, and Chidi Amadi, Chief of Staff to FCT Minister Wike, for their swift intervention.”
