The Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) has officially confirmed Yabo Maji Micha as the substantive Commander for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), signaling a renewed commitment to grassroots security coordination.
The announcement was made by the Commander General, Usman Muhammad Jahun, during a special parade at the group’s headquarters in Abuja. Jahun, represented by Deputy Commander General for Special Duty, Adaji Ibrahim, lauded Micha’s performance during his six-month tenure in acting capacity, calling on him to sustain the momentum.
In his acceptance remarks, Commander Micha vowed to deepen collaboration with other security agencies, especially the Nigerian Police, and urged his officers to maintain vigilance and professionalism.
He also thanked the six FCT area council chairmen for approving a ₦20,000 monthly allowance for each vigilante officer, describing it as a vital morale booster.
The FCT Commissioner of Police, C.P Ajao Saka Adewale, represented by CSP Abubakar Ibrahim, commended the VGN’s vital role in community safety and emphasized the importance of continued synergy in the fight against insecurity.
