Vigilantes Foil Attempted Gang Rape in Abuja

A group of local vigilantes in an Abuja village has successfully prevented an attempted gang rape, leading to the arrest of two suspects.

The incident involved a 19-year-old girl who was allegedly lured by the suspects under false pretenses. According to reports, the two men, both commercial motorcyclists, tricked the victim into following them to a secluded area where they planned to assault her.

Thanks to the quick intervention of vigilant community members, the crime was interrupted before it could be carried out. The suspects were promptly apprehended by the vigilantes and handed over to the police for further investigation and possible prosecution.

The suspects have been identified as Ismaila Yakubu and his unnamed accomplice.

Community members have praised the vigilantes for their bravery and swift action, emphasizing the need for neighborhood watch groups in curbing rising cases of violence.
