The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has announced plans to reassess the master plan for Usuma District as part of efforts to ensure orderly development and proper land use in the area.

This was disclosed by senior officials during a recent inspection tour of the district, where concerns were raised about unauthorized developments, encroachments, and deviations from the original land use plan.

According to the officials, the reassessment will involve reviewing existing structures, revalidating land allocations, and aligning development with Abuja’s broader urban planning goals.

“We are committed to preserving the integrity of the Abuja Master Plan. Any development that does not comply will be addressed accordingly,” one official stated.

The move is also aimed at preventing future land disputes, improving infrastructure planning, and ensuring that public amenities such as roads, schools, and health facilities are properly integrated into the district.

Residents and developers have been urged to cooperate with the FCTA during the reassessment process to avoid penalties or possible demolitions.

The reassessment is expected to begin in the coming weeks, with stakeholders including community leaders, developers, and relevant agencies invited to participate.
