
The Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) women’s football team has emerged as champions of the FCT Football Association Women’s Inter-Area Councils Tournament.
The thrilling final, held at the Area 3 Football Pitch in Abuja, saw AMAC edge past their opponents with a determined performance, securing the top spot in the highly competitive tournament.
The event, organized by the FCT Football Association, brought together female teams from all six area councils to promote women’s participation in sports and discover new football talent within the Territory.
Speaking after the match, the Chairman of the FCT Football Association, Alhaji Adam Mouktar Mohammed, praised all the teams for their spirit of sportsmanship and commended AMAC for their outstanding display throughout the tournament.
He reiterated the association’s commitment to developing grassroots football, especially among women and youth, adding that the tournament was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen female football in the FCT.
The victory was met with celebration from AMAC fans and supporters, who cheered the team’s success and encouraged them to keep pushing for greater achievements.
