The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has announced new conditions for land allocation within Abuja. According to a directive approved by the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, the revised framework will officially take effect on April 21st.

The new process introduces a three-step requirement for all successful applicants seeking a Statutory Right of Occupancy in the FCT:

  1. Collection of the Letter of Offer and all accompanying land documents.
  2. Full payment of all required fees and charges.
  3. Submission of a completed Letter of Acceptance along with proof of payment.

Applicants must complete these steps within 21 days of receiving their offer. Any failure to meet this deadline will result in automatic disqualification, and payments made after the expiration date will be deemed invalid.

Additionally, the policy now provides all allottees a two-year window to commence and complete development on their allocated plots, promoting timely and orderly construction across Abuja.

The Department of Land Administration emphasized that these reforms are intended to strengthen transparency, accountability, and responsible land use. Prospective landowners are advised to carefully review and comply with the new terms to avoid forfeiture.
