FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, is confident that the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja, will be completed and inaugurated by President Bola Tinubu next month.
During a project inspection in Abuja on Wednesday, Wike visited several sites, including the N16 road with an interchange at Gishiri, Judges’ Quarters, internal road networks in Katampe, and the ICC rehabilitation.
He praised the progress, stating, “Much work has been done at the ICC, and it’s a quality job. By God’s grace, we will inaugurate it on time.”
Wike also commended the work at Gishiri and the Justices’ Quarters, saying he was impressed with the quality and pace. He credited the progress to timely funding by the FCT Administration and President Tinubu’s support.
Addressing rumors about his health, Wike dismissed claims that he collapsed. He called it a distraction from a recent revelation by a former Head of Service.
“I never collapsed or traveled overseas for treatment. I attended the President’s iftar on his birthday and led Abuja residents for Sallah Homage the next day,” he said.
He added, “We all will die someday, but only God knows when. I am healthier than those spreading the rumors, and I will even write their condolence letters.”
