NBA Women Forum Prepares for Landmark 2025 Annual General Conference in Abuja

The Nigerian Bar Association Women Forum (NBAWF) is preparing for its highly anticipated 2025 Annual General Conference, set for April in Abuja. Themed “From Promise to Action: Achieving Gender Parity for Lasting Change,” the event aims to drive national discussions on advancing women in the legal profession and beyond.

As part of preparations, Hajiya Hadiza Afegbua, FCT State Lead of the forum, led a delegation to meet with NBA President Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN. She presented a progress report on the forum’s activities since assuming office in November, highlighting its growth and increasing impact across NBA branches in the FCT.

Afegbua reaffirmed the forum’s commitment to empowering female lawyers and ensuring their active participation in the legal industry.

NBA President Osigwe praised Afegbua’s leadership and commended the forum’s efforts in supporting women within the Bar. He was joined by key NBA officials, including General Secretary Dr. Mobolaji Ojibara, Treasurer Mrs. Blessing Imo Udofa-Poromon and Senior Advocate of Nigeria Mr. Johnny Agim.

Osigwe assured the NBA’s full support for the Women Forum and encouraged Afegbua to ensure proper coordination for a successful conference.

With preparations in full swing, the 2025 NBA Women Forum Annual General Conference is set to be a landmark event, pushing for gender parity and lasting institutional change.
