FCTA Partners with Private Sector to Enhance Women’s Healthcare

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has partnered with Nordica, a private healthcare provider, to improve women’s healthcare services in the territory.

Dr. Adedolapo Fasawe, the Mandate Secretary for Health Services & Environment in the FCTA, made this known at a public forum in Abuja themed “Fibroid and Adenomyosis Management.” She emphasized that the collaboration aims to provide affordable and accessible treatment for fibroids, cancer, and infertility.

According to Fasawe, the initiative marks a significant step toward establishing the FCT as a center of excellence for women’s healthcare in Nigeria. She highlighted the importance of addressing women’s health concerns, particularly the impact of fibroids on fertility and overall quality of life.

“The partnership has already started yielding results, including the acquisition of a non-invasive surgery machine for fibroid treatment,” she revealed. The machine, currently available at a private facility in Wuse, is expected to be introduced in public healthcare facilities in the near future.

This initiative underscores the FCTA’s commitment to improving healthcare access and enhancing the well-being of women in the capital territory.
