The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has intensified efforts to enforce building regulations and maintain orderly development in Abuja. The Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), Felix Obuah, along with the FCT Building Contravention Task Force, has embarked on joint site visits to identify violations.

The inspections, which began in Guzape District, have uncovered unauthorized structures and other building contraventions across the city. In response, Obuah ordered the marking of illegal structures for demolition, emphasizing the necessity of adhering to approved building plans.

He warned developers against commencing construction without proper approval, stating that strict compliance is non-negotiable. The crackdown on illegal buildings aligns with the FCTA’s broader urban planning efforts to ensure safe and sustainable development in the capital city.

Obuah also reiterated that the Building Contravention Task Force was established by the FCTA to monitor compliance and enforce building regulations effectively.
