The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched an investigation into a viral video showing an altercation in Ushafa Community, Abuja, allegedly stemming from resistance to arrest and obstruction of police duties.

Preliminary findings by the police revealed that the individuals involved had resisted arrest, thereby obstructing officers from lawfully carrying out their duties.

To ensure a fair and impartial inquiry, the officers involved have been identified and summoned for questioning to determine the full details of the incident

In a statement issued on Sunday by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the Command emphasized its commitment to transparency and accountability.

“All parties directly involved are urged to provide their statements at the FCT Police Command Headquarters, Zaria Street, Garki II, Abuja. Their cooperation is essential to facilitating a thorough investigation and ensuring that justice is served,” the statement read.

“The Command strongly advises members of the public against obstructing Police officers or any other public officials in the discharge of their lawful duties. Persons with grievances are encouraged to seek redress through appropriate legal channels or contact the Command’s Complaint Response Unit at 08107314192 or the Public Complaint Bureau at 09022222352”.
