Forty aspiring creatives have graduated from the first cohort of the Dinovate Creative Academy, an initiative by Dinovate Solutions designed to equip young Nigerians with media production and storytelling skills. The graduation ceremony at Dinovate Studios and Creative Hub marked the end of a four-week intensive training program covering cinematography, photography, video editing, and animation.
Launched in October 2024, the academy received over 200 applications when it opened in January 2025. After a competitive selection process, 40 participants were awarded full scholarships, ensuring financial barriers did not limit their creative potential.
The program began with a virtual induction before transitioning to in-person classes at the Dinovate facility on January 31. Industry professionals provided hands-on instruction, with experienced mentors leading each class and regular assessments ensuring steady progress.
Throughout the training, students applied their new skills through individual and group projects. Cinematography students collaborated on a short film, photography students organized a professional photo session, animation students produced an engaging animated video, and video editing students created a film demonstrating various editing techniques.
Temidayo Ibitoye, founder of Dinovate Solutions, emphasized the academy’s mission to empower young creatives in Nigeria. “Our goal with the Dinovate Creative Academy is to bridge the gap between passion and professional expertise. We aim to equip aspiring creatives with the skills needed to succeed in a competitive industry while fostering innovation and storytelling excellence,” he said.
During the graduation ceremony, outstanding performers were recognized, with top graduates offered internships at Dinovate Solutions to gain hands-on industry experience.
Following the success of its first cohort, Dinovate Creative Academy is preparing to launch a second cohort and an advanced-level class for graduates seeking to refine their skills. The academy remains dedicated to nurturing creative talent and shaping the future of media and storytelling in Nigeria.
