The Director of the Department of School Sports in the FCT, Mallam Hashimu Adamu, has expressed his gratitude to all zonal coordinators of the 2025 Barrister Nyesom Wike Renewed Hope Sports Fiesta, for their enormous support during the zonal preliminaries.
The multi-sport festival which began on Monday, February 3 with zonal preliminaries, at eight centers spread across the FCT; and was calibrated into three categories – Primary, Junior Secondary, and Senior Secondary; is now on break, to resume on Monday February 18 with the FCT finals.
Mallam Hashimu further reminded the Games Masters of the various schools that this year’s FCT finals will be held in two centers, called the Western Conference, and the Eastern Conference.
The Western Conference to be stationed at GSS Gwagwalada shall host schools from the following zones; Abaji, Kwali, Gwagwalada, and Tunga Maje; and the Eastern Conference at GSS Garki Area 10 will hold schools from Kuje, Tudun Wada & Garki, Dutse & Kubwa, and Karu zones.
The winners of all the Games (except in Athletics) from each zone are to compete at the conferences, from February 18th – 20th; starting from 9 am daily.
Meanwhile, track and field events are to commence on Monday 24th February and will be concluded on Thursday 27th February 2025.
In the Eastern Conference, Senior School Football (Girls) GDSS Karu, Fosla Academy, ADSS Maitama & GSS Kubwa are to represent their zone; bit the highly rated Fosla Academy Karshi (Boys team) will not be in the Eastern Conference, because they were beaten by GDSS Karu, at the preliminary phase.
All qualified athletes from the eight (8) zones are to resume camp on Sunday 23rd February 2025, at the Department of School Sports office, in Utako, preparatory to the Grand Finale at Package A of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
