Residents Raise Alarm as Money Doublers Invade Abuja Community
Abuja, Nigeria – Residents of an Abuja community are sounding the alarm over the sudden influx of so-called money doublers promising quick financial gains. The fraudulent scheme, which has been spreading rapidly, has left many unsuspecting individuals at risk of losing their hard earned money.
According to reports from concerned locals these fraudsters operate by luring victims with promises of doubling their cash within hours. They set up temporary offices often moving from one location to another to avoid detection by law enforcement. Witnesses claim that the scammers use flashy advertisements and social media platforms to attract individuals desperate for financial breakthroughs.
A resident, who preferred to remain anonymous, shared his experience, they told me if I give them ₦50,000, I would receive ₦100,000 in a few hours. Some people initially got paid to make it look real but later many lost their money It’s a well-planned scam.
Community leaders and security personnel have expressed concerns about the growing trend, urging residents to be cautious and report suspicious activities. The police have also launched an investigation into the matter, warning the public against falling victim to such fraudulent schemes.
A spokesperson from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command emphasized that law enforcement agencies are working to track down the perpetrators. We advise residents to be wary of schemes that promise unrealistic financial returns. Always verify before investing your money, the spokesperson stated.
Authorities are now calling for increased public awareness to curb the activities of these money doublers and prevent further financial losses within the community.
