The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Unit of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) experienced a minor fire incident in its server room. The incident occurred around 8 pm after the workers had closed for the day and was caused by an electric power surge.
According to a statement from Muhammad Hazat Sule, the Director of Information and Communication for FCT, the fire was swiftly contained by the FCT Fire Service, Federal Fire Service, and on-duty security personnel within approximately 13 minutes and 45 seconds.
The statement assures the public and clients of the FCT Administration that the incident will not disrupt daily operations due to sufficient backup systems in place. It also emphasizes that there is no need for concern as the incident will not hinder the smooth functioning of the ICT Unit or any other aspect of the Administration.
The Administration praised the FCT Fire Service and Federal Fire Service officials for their quick response and decisive action.
