Abuja Church Commissions Solar Borehole for Paze Community
The Peculiar People’s Centre for Deliverance Through Evangelism, a branch of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church in Kubwa, has provided a solar-powered borehole to the Paze Community in Byazhin Across, Abuja, in celebration of its 20th anniversary.
Commissioned on Saturday, the project was described as part of the church’s “practical evangelism.” Senior Pastor Alex Ogundipe said the initiative was inspired by the community’s dire need for clean water, discovered during an outreach visit. He explained that the borehole would help reduce waterborne diseases and ease the burden on women and children who previously walked long distances to fetch water.
A community-based team has been set up to manage and maintain the facility, with Pastor Ogundipe hinting at further support if it is well sustained.
Pastor Kayode Aliyu of the Gwarinpa branch called the donation spiritually significant, citing the biblical reference of Elim. Anniversary Committee Chairperson, Mrs. Margaret Ohenhen, said the church acted after witnessing residents queuing at a single tap.
Community leader, Chief Saidu Ibrahim, thanked the church for the intervention and appealed to the government for more infrastructure. Women Leader, Mrs. Chioma Mba, called the project life-changing, especially for expectant mothers.
Residents welcomed the development with joy, describing it as a vital step toward better living conditions.
