
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, is set to revive press clubs in secondary schools to promote ethical journalism from an early age.
During a visit to Government Secondary School, Garki, NUJ FCT Vice Chairman, Comrade Yahaya Ndababo, said the initiative aims to equip students with journalism skills and values.
The project will officially launch on Thursday, July 24, 2025, starting with two pilot schools.
Press Club Matron, Udofia Unyime, praised the move as timely and inspiring for students.
The initiative is part of the 2025 NUJ FCT Press Week themed: “Journalism in a Changing World: Press Freedom, Media, Democracy, and Society.”
