The Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA) is set to sign an MoU with the Guild of Optometric Directors of Nigeria (GOODON) to raise awareness on eye care and create jobs in the health sector.
During a visit to AEA, GOODON President Dr. Adesuwa Agbontaen said many of their members run small clinics and need support in training, funding, and digital tools. He said the partnership could help create roles like Optometry Assistants and Vision Technicians.
AEA’s Acting MD, Dr. Chudi Ugwuada-Ezirigwe, said the agency is committed to helping entrepreneurs thrive and emphasized the importance of good eye health for productivity. He noted that many eye issues like glaucoma can be prevented with early checks.
The partnership aims to support SMEs, boost employment, and promote regular eye screenings, especially among business owners.
