President Tinubu Receives Queen Mary of Denmark in Abuja

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received Queen Mary of Denmark during a courtesy visit at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, marking a notable moment in Nigeria–Denmark diplomatic relations.

The European monarch was warmly welcomed at the President’s official residence by President Tinubu and First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

The closed-door meeting, which took place at the State House, focused on strengthening bilateral ties between Nigeria and the Kingdom of Denmark. While full details of their discussion have not been made public, the visit signals growing cooperation between the two nations in areas such as trade, development, and global diplomacy.

In attendance at the high-level meeting were the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu.

Queen Mary was accompanied by the Danish Ambassador to Nigeria, Jens Ole Bach Hansen, who has played a key role in fostering stronger relations between both countries.

The visit adds to ongoing diplomatic efforts to expand partnerships between Nigeria and European countries on issues ranging from climate change and security to investment and cultural exchange.
