The Abuja branch of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC), in partnership with the Abuja Multi-Door Courthouse (AMDC), has announced the launch of the 2025 Abuja Settlement Week, set to take place from July 7th to 11th at the AMDC, located within the High Court/JSC Complex in Gudu, Abuja.
In a statement released by the organizers, the event is themed “Promoting Peace, Encouraging Mediation, Delivering Justice.” It aims to promote alternative dispute resolution by encouraging parties to settle conflicts through mediation, which is known to be faster, more cost-effective, and confidential compared to traditional court processes.
The Abuja Settlement Week serves as a platform for mediators, legal experts, institutions, and the general public to resolve disputes in a peaceful, efficient manner, reducing the burden on courts and promoting access to justice.
Stakeholders are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to settle cases amicably, especially in a time when court dockets remain overwhelmed with civil matters that could be resolved outside the courtroom.
