A middle aged man identified as Louis Nwachukwu has been confirmed dead after reportedly slumping inside a hotel room in the Mpape area of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
Nwachukwu, believed to be a staff member of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), had checked into the hotel alongside a woman later identified as Helen Raymond. According to preliminary police reports, the woman alleged that the deceased collapsed shortly after they engaged in a private encounter.
The incident, which occurred earlier this week, was promptly reported to the Mpape Police Division. Officers arrived at the scene to recover the man’s lifeless body, which has since been deposited in a local morgue for autopsy and further examination.
Spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the development, stating that a full investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of death. She added that the woman in question is assisting the police with their inquiries.
While no foul play has been officially confirmed, authorities are treating the case with caution as they await medical reports.
As the investigation progresses, residents have been urged to avoid speculation and allow the police to conclude their findings.
