The 2025 edition of the Federal Capital Territory Football Association (FCT FA) League officially kicked off in Abuja with 18 football clubs vying for dominance and promotion in the highly competitive local league.
Divided into three groups of six teams each, the tournament will see intense football action over the next few weeks, with matches scheduled at the Area 3 Playing Pitch and Old Parade Ground.
- Group A features CASMATT FC, Defence Strikers, Gwarinpa United, Golden Boys, IB Sports, and Royal FC.
- Group B includes Pride FC, Youthful Ballers FA, Optimum Sports, Makinz FC, Camp United, and RAMSAKY FC.
- Group C hosts Ejike Ugboaja FC, Basic Maracana, Abees FA, Future Guarantee, Sofae Sports, and Sensational Stars.
The competition began with thrilling matchups, as CASMATT FC secured a commanding 3–1 win over Gwarinpa United, while Golden Boys edged IB Sports in a 4–3 thriller. Defence Strikers also claimed a narrow 4–3 victory against Royal FC.
In Group B, Youthful Ballers FA stunned Camp United 2–0, Pride FC edged Makinz FC 1–0, and RAMSAKY FC held Optimum Sports to a goalless draw.
According to the FCT FA, the top two teams from each group will advance to the final round the much-anticipated Super Six, where the ultimate league champions will be decided.
The FCT FA League is a vital platform for unearthing raw football talent and promoting grassroots development across Abuja. This year’s edition promises to be one of the most exciting yet, with clubs eager to prove their worth on the pitch.
