FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has praised President Bola Tinubu as the leader Nigeria needs for development.
Speaking at Obafemi Awolowo University Thursday, Wike said poor leadership is Nigeria’s biggest problem. He quoted author Chinua Achebe who said “the trouble with Nigeria is the absence of proper leadership.”
Wike praised Tinubu for removing fuel subsidy on his first day in office, something previous leaders feared to do. He said this gave states more resources and gradually reduced petrol prices.
The minister also highlighted improved security funding and the creation of regional commissions to spread development across the country.
Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke called Wike a straightforward politician, while the Ooni of Ife praised his fearlessness in speaking truth.
