Alhaji Yakubu Garba Gobir, the Sarkin Gobir of the Ilorin Emirate and Wazirin Kasar Hausa, has applauded President Bola Tinubu for appointing Dr. Ibrahim Shehu Shema as Chairman of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), describing the move as a decisive step toward advancing the development of the Federal Capital Territory.
In a statement released on Saturday, Gobir commended President Tinubu for prioritizing competence over political considerations, saying Dr. Shema is a seasoned public servant with an impressive track record in governance.
“This appointment shows that the President understands what Abuja truly needs—capable, visionary leadership,” Gobir said, emphasizing Shema’s impactful tenure in Katsina State.
He underlined the vital role of the FCDA in shaping Abuja’s infrastructure and urban development and expressed optimism that Shema’s leadership would bring about thoughtful planning and inclusive progress.
Gobir described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Shema’s dedication to national development and urged citizens and stakeholders to support his efforts in transforming the capital city.
“This is a praiseworthy decision by President Tinubu,” he noted. “With Dr. Shema in charge of the FCDA, I am confident we will witness significant and meaningful development in the FCT.”
