Abuja — A fierce fire broke out at midnight, tearing through the popular PADOFEC Plaza near Trademore Mega Estate in Lugbe, Abuja, and leaving behind a trail of destruction and heavy financial losses.
The plaza, located opposite CLOBE Estate, was engulfed in flames as firefighters battled to contain the blaze and stop it from spreading to nearby buildings.
One of the shops, known for selling electrical appliances, was completely destroyed, pushing the estimated losses into millions of naira.
As of press time, the exact cause of the fire remained unknown. Notably, there was no electricity supply in the area at the time of the incident, and the affected shop had no solar connection, leaving both residents and emergency officials puzzled over what might have sparked the inferno.
Emergency responders have yet to release a full damage report, as stunned shop owners and local residents gathered at the scene, watching the once-busy commercial hub reduced to ashes.
