Police Arrest Suspects in Coordinated Raids Across Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested 78 individuals in a series of coordinated operations targeting criminal hideouts across Abuja. The raids, conducted in the early hours of Monday, April 21, 2025, focused on identified black spots known for harboring criminal activities.​

According to a statement from the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the suspects were arrested for various offenses, including drug trafficking, armed robbery, and the manufacturing of counterfeit currencies. During the operations, law enforcement officers executed search warrants in several structures, recovering illicit substances, counterfeit currencies, light weapons, motorcycles, generators, and stolen electronic devices.​

The police have assured the public that all arrested individuals will undergo thorough screening, and those found culpable will be prosecuted in accordance with the law. Additionally, the illegal structures used by the suspects have been dismantled to prevent future criminal activities in the area.​

FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth Igweh, reiterated the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents. He urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police.​

These operations are part of the ongoing efforts by the FCT Police Command to combat crime and maintain law and order within the capital territory.​
