Tunisian volleyball powerhouse CF Carthage has advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2025 African Women’s Volleyball Club Championship (AWVCC) after a commanding display in their final group-stage match in Abuja.
Carthage, known for their tactical precision and powerful attack, overwhelmed their opponents with a straight-sets victory, cementing their place among the tournament’s top contenders. The win not only secured their progression but also confirmed their status as group leaders.
Speaking after the match, CF Carthage’s head coach expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, noting that their discipline and teamwork were key to the victory. “We came with a plan, and the girls executed it flawlessly. Now we set our sights on the quarterfinals,” he said.
Fans at the packed Abuja Indoor Sports Hall were treated to thrilling rallies and dominant serving as the North African giants continued their impressive run in the tournament.
The AWVCC, hosted in Nigeria for the first time in several years, has seen fierce competition from top clubs across the continent. With Carthage’s qualification, the stage is now set for a heated knockout phase as the battle for the continental crown intensifies.
