The Federal Capital Territory Administration and the Chinese government have reaffirmed their commitment to advancing key development projects in Abuja.

During a visit to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in Abuja, Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, emphasized China’s dedication to the partnership.

Wike assured him of the administration’s full support in executing the agreements signed during President Bola Tinubu’s visit to China in September 2024.

As part of the renewed collaboration, two major Chinese firms, CGC and CCECC, have been tasked with critical infrastructure projects.

CGC will oversee satellite water development, while both firms will install smart streetlights across the capital, integrated with a high-tech monitoring system.

Ambassador Dunhai described the visit as a follow-up to the agreement, highlighting the significant contributions of Chinese companies to Abuja’s infrastructure.

He reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Agenda and President Tinubu’s development priorities.
