
Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin Inspects African Medical Center of Excellence in Abuja
Abuja, Nigeria – The Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, today represented the President of the Senate, His Excellency, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, GCON, during an inspection of the African Medical Center of Excellence (AMCE) Quaternary Hospital in Kabusa, Abuja.
The state-of-the-art medical facility, which has a planned capacity of 500 beds, is designed to specialize in Oncology, Hematology and Cardiology. The AMCE is set to be a game-changer in Nigeria’s healthcare sector, symbolizing the government’s commitment to revolutionizing healthcare access and service delivery across the country.

During the visit, Senator Jibrin commended President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his dedication to the initiative. He emphasized the administration’s resolve to improve healthcare accessibility for all Nigerians.
Furthermore, the Deputy Senate President lauded Afreximbank, King’s College Hospital London and other strategic partners for their contributions in making the vision of the AMCE a reality in his remarks, Senator Jibrin reaffirmed the National Assembly’s commitment to enacting progressive legislation that will transform Nigeria into a hub of excellence in healthcare, ensuring that medical talent is nurtured, opportunities are plentiful and quality healthcare is accessible to all.
The AMCE Quaternary Hospital is expected to play a critical role in reducing medical tourism by providing world class healthcare services within the country, ultimately saving costs and improving patient outcomes for Nigerians and beyond.
