The Committee on relocation of Apo Mechanic Technicians and Auto Spare Parts Dealers to Wasa informal sector area has commenced work.
The Chairman of the Committee, Tpl. Abubakar Makama, who paid on the spot assessment of the site with members of the Committee said that the Committee will work assiduously to ensure that the assignment is completed in good time.
He described the site as a suitable place for business and informal sector activities.
He lauded the FCT Administration for providing high quality asses roads to the area.
Makama hinted that enumeration of eligible beneficiaries will soon commence.
It may be recalled that the Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council, Chief Felix Amechi Obuah, recently inaugurated a 19-man committee with a responsibility to relocate mechanic artisans and spare parts dealers from Apo Mechanic road corridor to Wasa.
Obuah, while setting up the committee gave the following terms of reference:
*Conduct enumeration of the eligible auto mechanic technicians/ dealers for possible relocation to Wasa.
*Immediate preparation of the relocation site.
*Expeditious handling of compensation matters.
*Establishment of demarcations/boundaries of the site.
*Identity areas of integration where necessary
*Review of the layout.
