The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has concluded plans to develop entrepreneurial education in all its Secondary Schools across the Territory.
Accordingly, this is to prepare the youth towards changing the narrative of becoming self-employed and job creators in the country.
The President of the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Mallam Adam Bello Gupa, who disclosed this in Abuja, said that the FCT is set to host the 66th National Congress of the ANCOPSS to discuss and conduct several activities that are basically aimed at addressing critical needs for entrepreneurship education in Nigerian Secondary Schools.
Gupa said, the initiative is poised to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the dynamic global economy.
The ANCOPSS President, while speaking in an exclusive interview with Abuja Digest revealed that the National Congress is a week long event, which is filled with insightful discussions and activities, to address the critical need for entrepreneurship education in the schools.
Gupa expressed the readiness of the FCT Chapter to host the event; saying that all is set for this significant programme.
He emphasized that extensive preparations have been made to ensure the success of the congress.
Gupa revealed that
the congress, which has a theme ‘developing entrepreneurship education in Secondary Schools in Nigeria’, will bring together educators, policy makers and industry experts to explore innovative strategies and practical approaches for integrating entrepreneurship education into the Secondary School curriculum.
The President, who commended the FCT Minister, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, for his unwavering support and commitment to the advancement of education in the FCT, said the Education Secretariat and the Stakeholders will be actively participating in the lined up activities which include Health Walk to promote participants wellness, the official opening ceremony featuring keynote addresses from distinguished guests and education leaders.
