The Acting Director of the Federal Capital Territory Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mrs. Rahila Isa-Baita, has announced that all preparations for the 2024 pilgrimage to Israel are complete.

Speaking in a telephone interview from Israel, Mrs. Isa-Baita emphasized the board’s commitment to ensuring the safety and spiritual fulfillment of the pilgrims.

Mrs. Isa-Baita explained that the purpose of their current visit is to inspect the holy sites to guarantee their safety for pilgrims.

“The Nigeria Christian Pilgrimage Commission and the entire pilgrims management board in Nigeria are in Israel to ensure readiness for the pilgrimage starting on June 29th,” she stated.

Assuring a hitch-free pilgrimage, she added, “The FCT director of Christian Pilgrimage Board is here in Israel as it is our mandate to inspect sites to assure the intending pilgrims that Israel is safe.”

“We are at one of the holy sites now with other management and stakeholders from different states, including the new Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC).

We assure Nigerians that pilgrimage is safe because Israel is open for pilgrims,” Mrs. Isa-Baita noted.

She further assured that there are numerous sites Nigerians can visit without any issues, as these are not near conflict zones. “The ground handlers are on top of the situation in the region.

We are here with the Nigerian Ambassador to Israel, Mrs. Agatha Afoekelu, who is ready to receive all Nigerian contingents,” Mrs. Isa-Baita concluded.

This announcement comes as a reassurance to intending pilgrims and their families, highlighting the thorough preparations made by the FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board and other stakeholders involved.
